Script typefaces are based on fluid stroke created by handwriting or calligraphy. Elegant, formal, sometimes spontaneous or funky, often appear to be drawn using crayon, quill pen, flat-tipped brush or marker. They are commonly used in logos or headings of web pages as they add impact to wording and create contrast with body text. Script typeface will create fantastic effect if well matched with graphics used on the webpage, but setting ALL CAPS or mixing scripts can make them very hard to read. It is also good to add extra space around them to fully expose all their beautiful curves and curls.
Below are some of my favorite script typefaces that are free for personal and commercial use, and can be downloaded from myfonts.com website. Please note that in order to download the font you will have to register.
